The UK contract cleaning organisation CSSA (the Cleaning & Support Services Association) has officially relaunched after a two-year hiatus.
The organisation was part of a merger with fellow organisations Asset Skills and the Facilities Management Association (FMA) in 2013 - when the Building Futures Group (BFG) was formed. However CSSA members at that time resolved to end the merger process at the end of 2014 and the association had been inactive since then. The BFG recently announced its closure.
Former members and directors met in London at the end of last year and decided to make the CSSA full operational again, saying the contract cleaning sector needs specialised representation.
At its official launch in London last month chairman Doug Cooke of Principle Cleaning Services outlined CSSA's plans to re-establish a strong and vibrant association, to maintain the growth of the cleaning sector and to develop programmes that meet members' expectations.
