In Australia, the InterContinental Perth City Centre is scheduled to open on October 15. Located in the King Street Precinct, the 16-story hotel will have 240 guestrooms, studios and suites, as well as a Club InterContinental, collection of new dining and bar options, plus a meeting suite concept.
The InterContinental Perth City Centre was designed by Woods Bagot, and will include design details like sandstone walled lobby spaces, sweeping sculptural statements, dramatic lighting, glass encased stairwells and new furnishings. The team paid particular attention to curating an art collection, with many works commissioned especially for the new hotel from West Australian painters, ceramicists, glassblowers and sculptors. Works will be displayed throughout the hotel’s public spaces, as well as in each guestroom.
Rooms will have a residential feel, with options including classic, city view or the executive studios and suites. Each has light filled space and amenity from luxe toiletries, mini bar with local wines and boutique brews, smart TVs and complimentary Wi-Fi connectivity.
Guests staying in Club InterContinental rooms will have access to the Club InterContinental Lounge on the hotel’s top floor. An executive meeting room will also be available for complimentary use.
The interiors of the new InterContinental Perth City Centre’s restaurant and bar offerings were designed by EDG Design. These dining venues will include Heno & Rey, a tapas bar; Ascua (Spanish for ‘ember’), a ground floor restaurant space with an open kitchen; The Loft Lounge on level one, which will have an alfresco terrace over looking century old palm trees and heritage buildings of King Street; and Graffiti, which will have a roller door clad in a specially commissioned work by Perth street artist Daek William.
