The number of Green building projects is expected to double by 2018, according to a new study from construction market research firm Dodge Data and Analytics.
The study, conducted in coordination with United Technologies Corp. and the World Green Building Council (WorldGBC), surveyed more than 1,000 businesses in 69 countries. The report found the number of respondents who are expecting to have 60 percent of their building projects green-certified is forecasted to increase from 18 percent in 2016 to 37 percent in 2018. The study credited this growth to an increase in green construction projects in developing markets such as Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, China, and India.
